Civil Engineering, in the most basic sense; It is an engineering branch that includes the planning, projecting, implementation and inspection of all kinds of structures built to serve people and to increase their living standards, and the basic engineering knowledge and techniques used in this process.

The aim of the Civil Engineering department is;

1. Able to set up their own business, provide engineering services in public institutions and private sector, undertake managerial and leadership roles,

2. Able to work in the field of application such as field engineer, site supervisor in companies operating in the construction sector,

3. Able to produce projects and provide consultancy services in different fields of the construction industry (structure, hydraulics, geotechnical and transportation),

4. National and international scientific research and postgraduate studies,

is to train engineers with strong character who are beneficial to society.

In addition to providing high standard living spaces for the society, researching the measures that can be taken in buildings against possible natural disasters and creating safe, economical and aesthetically high-level structures in line with these researches are among the main objectives of the Civil Engineering Department.

Civil Engineering department, which is one of the oldest engineering units in human history, where its graduates have the opportunity to find a job in a wide range of fields; It also includes various fields of expertise under the main disciplines such as building, building materials, geotechnics, building management, hydraulics, mechanics and transportation.

The Department of Civil Engineering, which is within the Faculty of Engineering, aims to provide its students with these basic engineering qualifications, as well as a formation that designs for their needs and can produce effective solutions against various problems they may encounter in their professional life.
